Raine
So, is this the calm before or after the storm? Living in a place that has “monsoons” could be fun or a pain in the neck. When it rains you know it. It can be flood-like amounts in a short period of time and suddenly it stops as quickly as it starts. In the desert or in the mountains, the rain can be unpredictable and scary at times. We’ve heard thunder so loud that it shook the house.
One good thing is often it will rain during certain parts of the day, say after 12 noon. Funny how that happens, but it is convenient to know what times to avoid an afternoon weekend BBQ.
So, what’s in a name? My parents being new age – is that code-speak for hippies these days 🙂 – thought that it would be funny to call me Raine because at the time we were having one of our baby Arizona monsoons. I thought they were lazy and couldn’t take a couple of extra minutes to come up with a decent name. Well, now I guess I’ve grown up some and I like it. It sounds clean and organic – something I have really come to love.
Obviously growing up it is hard to put a value on something when you hear jokes regularly. Now, I don’t even think about that. I focus on trying to make sense out my world – and the weather too.
I have always been drawn to organizing tools, they can make life a lot simpler. I like the idea of graphic organizers because it allows for the big picture to emerge. You can see where everything fits. You can plan it all out – something I love doing.
By using the mind mapping software you don’t have to necessarily be an artist per se. The mind map maker program helps you to put your ideas down and you can get them organized how you like.
Don’t worry, most mind map programs contain several mind map examples to help you get started. In fact, you might even want to think about mind maps for kids. Get them started early with organizing their thoughts for their school projects.
Mind maps come in all kinds of shapes and sizes for all types of projects. I will be creating mind maps for many of the books that R and M Publishing produces. I think it will be great for the readers to get more involved with the books they are reading.

Publisher’s Note
Raine is our go to person for visual diagrams. She likes organizing information using all types of graphic organizers.
Using her strong visualization skills, she will be producing mind maps and other types of visual presentations. We plan to incorporate these presentations in as many of our books as possible.
This will help our readers get more bang for their hard-earned dollars. We hope our readers will see how valuable these bonus presentations are.
