A Rae Of Sunshine is a book of 100 illustrated love poems that is dedicated to my wife Rae, who died suddenly and unexpectedly on 19 December 2018..

Rae and I met online in late 2004, not via a dating site, but through a mutual interest in making a living online.

By early 2005, we had started collaborating on a few business projects, and it soon became apparent that we were ideally suited to each other – we had similar thinking patterns, and we shared many of the same values, principles and priorities.

And it wasn’t long before our relationship became more than just a business venture – we realized we were in love.

To help our long-distance relationship blossom, I wrote a love poem to her every single day, a tradition I continued for several years, even after I moved to the USA and we were married.

In fact, I ended up writing over 2,500 poems.

This book features 100 of these poems, carefully selected to express how my love for her grew, and how she had literally saved my life. (My first marriage had turned incredibly sour during the final ten years, to the point that I had become clinically depressed and seriously suicidal, and if it hadn’t been for Rae, I may not be alive today.)

Actually, only the first 99 poems are taken from the ones I wrote for her all those years ago – the 100th, and final one, was written shortly after her death, and is my farewell to a woman who had become my business partner, best friend, lover, wife, sounding board, and confidante.

Each poem is accompanied by a photograph that captures the essence of that poem.
